No-Bake Almond Butter Cacao Cups

No-Bake Almond Butter Cacao Cups

Approx. Time:
20 min prep • 30 to 45 min chill • 1hr total
Servings:
10 to 12 cups

The first time I made these no-bake almond butter cacao cups, it was actually for a client. I remember tasting one almost casually, not expecting much — just doing my usual quality check before serving. And then… wow. I was completely blown away.

It wasn’t just good. It was shockingly good.

That deep cacao flavor, the natural sweetness from the dates, the richness of almond butter, and that chocolatey topping with crunchy sliced almonds — everything just worked. Perfect balance. No baking. No refined sugar. No nonsense. I honestly couldn’t believe something so simple could taste that indulgent.

From that moment on, this recipe became a staple in my kitchen.

I’ve made it a gazillion times since then — for myself, for clients, for friends, for gifts, for holidays, for those “I need something sweet but not heavy” moments. It’s one of those recipes that people always ask about. The kind you bring somewhere and everyone wants the recipe before they even finish the first bite.

What I love most is how effortless it is. No oven. No complicated steps. Just real ingredients blended together into something that feels indulgent but still nourishing. These cups are rich, satisfying, and deeply chocolatey, yet they’re made with ingredients you can actually feel good about eating and sharing.

This is the kind of dessert that fits into real life. You can make it ahead, store it in the fridge, grab one when a craving hits, or package it beautifully and give it as a homemade gift that feels thoughtful and special. It’s proof that simple food, made with intention, is often the most memorable.

If you’re looking for a no-bake treat that tastes like something you’d buy at a high-end café but is incredibly easy to make at home, this is it. This recipe has earned its place in my rotation — and I have a feeling it will earn a spot in yours too.

For the Cups

  • 2 cups of raw almonds
  • 2 cup pitted dates
  • ½ cup cacao powder
  • ½ cup almond butter
  • 2 tsp almond or vanilla extract

For the Topping

  • 3 tbsp agave syrup
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 3 tbsp cacao powder
  • ½ cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Make the base:
Add almonds to a food processor and pulse until finely ground. Add dates, cacao powder, almond butter, and almond extract. Blend until the mixture is sticky and holds together when pressed.
  2. Form the cups:
Line a muffin tin with liners. Press the almond-date mixture firmly into the bottom of each liner, creating an even layer.
  3. Prepare the topping:
In a small bowl, mix agave syrup, melted coconut oil, and cacao powder until smooth and glossy.
  4. Assemble:
Spoon the chocolate mixture over each cup. Sprinkle sliced almonds generously on top.
  5. Chill:
Place in the refrigerator for 30–45 minutes, or until fully set.
  6. Enjoy:
Store in the fridge and enjoy straight from cold for the best texture.
