Homemade Holiday Stuffing

Homemade Holiday Stuffing

If there’s one dish that truly makes Thanksgiving feel like Thanksgiving to me, it’s the stuffing. I’m not even exaggerating — out of the entire holiday table, it’s my absolute favorite part. Everyone always talks about turkey being the star of the show, but listen… for me, the stuffing is the real main character. The flavors, the warmth, the way my whole kitchen smells when it’s baking — it’s pure comfort.

Arben, on the other hand, is not a stuffing person at all. He’ll go straight for the turkey and mashed potatoes like every teenager on the planet. Meanwhile, I’m over here treating my stuffing like it’s a five-star meal. And you know what? I like it separate, not stuffed inside the turkey. I want it baked in its own dish so it gets that perfect texture — soft and flavorful on the inside, a little golden and crispy on top. That’s the good stuff.

This recipe is simple, cozy, and one of those dishes that makes the whole house feel like the holidays. Every year, without fail, I make it — even if I’m the only one who gets excited about it. And honestly? I don’t mind at all.

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 (12–14 oz) package of your favorite premade seasoned stuffing mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for color)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the veggies:
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and celery and cook until soft and fragrant, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Prep the stuffing:
Add your premade stuffing mix directly into the pan with the sautéed vegetables. Toss everything together so all the flavors combine.
  3. Make the egg mixture:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and chicken broth.
  4. Combine:
Transfer the stuffing mixture into a baking dish. Pour the egg-and-broth mixture on top, gently folding until everything is evenly moistened.
  5. Bake:
Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until the top is golden and slightly crisp.
  6. Serve:
Add a sprinkle of fresh parsley on top and serve warm.
