There are certain meals I could eat every single day and never get tired of… and shrimp tacos are absolutely one of them.
I love shrimp. I love tacos. I love slaw. I love cabbage. And I really love anything with a creamy yogurt sauce. So one day I decided to combine all of my favorites into one dish that feels indulgent, but is actually balanced, clean, and packed with protein.
This is one of those recipes that hits every craving — fresh, spicy, creamy, crunchy — but still leaves you feeling light, energized, and not weighed down.
And if you know me, you know that’s important.
As a private chef, I’m always trying to create recipes that are satisfying enough for my clients but still aligned with a healthy lifestyle. This one checks every box.
Why I Love This Recipe
✔ High in protein
✔ Fresh and vibrant
✔ Balanced fats and carbs
✔ Quick enough for a weeknight
✔ Elegant enough to serve to guests
The shrimp are seasoned and roasted until perfectly juicy. The slaw brings that crisp, refreshing crunch from cabbage and fresh lime. And the chipotle yogurt crema? That’s what pulls everything together — creamy, slightly smoky, with just enough heat.
It tastes indulgent… but it’s actually very balanced.
Honestly, I would eat this every single day if I could.
My Approach to Making It Healthy
Instead of heavy fried shrimp or mayo-based sauces, I use:
• Lean roasted shrimp
• Greek yogurt for protein-rich creaminess
• Fresh cabbage slaw for fiber and volume
• Almond flour or low-carb tortillas when I want it lighter
It’s about making smart swaps without sacrificing flavor.
You should never feel like you’re dieting when you’re eating good food.
You should feel satisfied.
When I Make This
This is perfect for:
• Post-workout dinners
• Client meal prep
• Family taco night
• Summer gatherings
• Or honestly… just when I’m craving something amazing
It’s fast, it’s colorful, and it looks beautiful on the table — which matters to me as a chef.
Food should taste good, but it should also feel special.
Final Thoughts
Healthy food does not have to be boring.
Balanced food does not have to be bland.
You can absolutely have tacos, creamy sauce, and still feel lean and energized.
That’s what I try to create in my kitchen every day — recipes that are done right.
With love,
Chef Emira 💛
